Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why work with me?
I understand the leadership journey firsthand. I also understand growing my career while experiencing crippling anxiety while nurturing a marriage and raising children. Walking this path is not well supported in the world and I feel deeply called to support women in this journey. I provide insight, a mature container to discuss our most important feelings and decisions, and help my clients grow as people into the women they want to become.
Q: What is A Trauma Recovery Coach, and why is it important?
I am a Certified Complex Trauma Recovery Coach (CTRC). A CTRC is a Mental Health Practitioner trained in working with clients with Childhood Trauma, otherwise known as Complex Trauma. I chose this field because so many of our leadership challenges are based on our childhood experiences and the generational trauma of racial and gender oppression.
Trauma Recovery Coaches believe that the client has what it takes within them to heal, and we help them to see that. Working with clients, Trauma Recovery Coaches create sustainable recovery goals, individualized to fit the client’s needs at the time, and assess, as progress is made, how to redefine and achieve what the client wants. We work to create recovery goals and set action steps, identify obstacles as they arise, and always maintain a safe space for the client to discuss and process where they are in the context of a relatable, professional relationship.
Q: Can I still see my therapist if I am working with you?
Yes. Clients can see both therapists and Trauma Recovery Coaches at the same time, and it can be highly effective. If releases are signed, the Therapist and Trauma Recovery Coach can communicate on the client’s behalf, which can be helpful but is not necessary. It is best practice to space out sessions by at least two days. It’s best not to have a session with me and your therapist on the same day.
Q. Do you work with people of the global majority or people from the LBTQIA+ community?
Yes. I am committed to intersectionality, equity, and being an antiracist. I have a long track record of helping women of the global majority succeed in life according to their definition and have a personal commitment to aid in the success of the women of color in my life. I am also a daughter of the gay community and have been a life-long ally to the Queer community.
Q. What will I get out of our time together?
During our discovery session, we will talk about this in much more detail and, together, we set target goals to guide out work.
Q. What forms of payment do you take?
Either check or PayPal. When issuing payment via PayPal, please absorb any associated fees.
Q. Are the sessions online or in-person?
Most of my coaching is done via Zoom.
Sayle often shared pearls of wisdom that I wrote down because they were wonderfully insightful.
“Sayle and I began working together in the spring of 2023. A woman of color recommended her. Although she was highly recommended, as a Black woman, I was concerned about her ability to be culturally sensitive. Before agreeing to work together, we discussed my reservations. Sayle welcomed the conversation and was transparent about her experiences.
After a few sessions, I began to look forward to them and felt safe and supported. Sayle often shared pearls of wisdom that I wrote down because they were wonderfully insightful. She also made me laugh. She would matter-of-factly make profound statements without realizing their humor.”
